- Why am I here???
- After finishing my degree in Justice Studies I decided that I would take one year out of my life to teach English in Korea and then come back to Canada to start my so called career. Well it turns out that I didn't exactly take a year out of my life, rather teaching in Korea has become my life.

Question though - is it common to get married before the ceremony in Korea?

Not sure about before but the signing isn't done at the ceremony in Korea like it is in Canada.
Many couples have the ceremony and then wait a year to sign the paperwork.
We just did it this way b/c I had a day off work today and it can't be done on the weekend -- you can bet the government workers at the Canadian Embassy won't be working weekends.....hehe

I never knew that about couples waiting a year to sign the paperwork. It wasn't an issue for us because, like you, we did our embassy paperwork before we had the wedding.
